Perlmutter Hosting 7th Congressional District Arts Competition Exhibition

 Reception Announcing Awards Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design

 

LAKEWOOD, CO – On Sat., April 28, 2012, Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CO-07), in conjunction is hosting an exhibition and reception recognizing high school artists from around the 7th Congressional District in the Rotunda of the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design.  Perlmutter, along with representatives from RMCAD will present awards to the 7th Congressional District high school students participating in the 7th Congressional Arts Competition, “An Artistic Discovery.”

 

The artwork will be on display at RMCAD through Friday, May 4.  More than 100 students from the following schools are submitting pieces for the competition:

 

  • Adams City High School
  • Pomona High School
  • Alameda High School
  • Prairie view High School
  • Aurora Central
  • Ralston Valley
  • Bear Creek High School
  • Warren Tech- North
  • Golden High School
  • Warren Tech
  • Hinkley High School
  • Wheat Ridge High School
  • Lakewood High School
  • Williams Smith High School
  • Overland High School

 

 

The winning work will be sent to Washington, D.C. to represent the 7th Congressional District and will be displayed for one year with other winners from throughout the nation in an exhibit in the U.S. Capitol. 

 

“This is a fantastic way to showcase the talent of our students here in the 7th Congressional District,” said Perlmutter.  “The caliber of art this year is outstanding, and I am so proud of each and every one of these students.  I hope they all continue to pursue art throughout their lives and to continue sharing their talents with all of us.”
