Congressman Todd Akin Missouri's 2nd District
Internship Information PDF Print

My office is pleased to offer college-level internships in my St. Louis and Washington offices. An internship in a Congressional office provides students with a perspective into the inner-workings of the federal government. All internships are unpaid. However, I will be happy to help you if you are requesting academic credit through your school or university.

Part-time and full-time internships are available in my St. Louis and Washington offices year-round. Duties of interns include office work, including filing, answering phones, sorting mail, assisting senior staff with various tasks, and special projects. I encourage interns to make the most out of their experience. Therefore, interns in Washington are encouraged to participate in lectures and seminars on Capitol Hill and attend congressional committee meetings and hearings. Our St. Louis interns interact closely with constituents on a local level by preparing reports on local projects and meeting with constituents.

If you are interested in pursuing an internship, please complete my internship application webform. After submitting your application, my internship coordinator(s) will contact you for further information.
