Metro-North to Restore Service to Upper Hudson Line Saturday Morning
Friday November 02, 2012
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that full train service will resume Saturday morning on MTA Metro-North Railroad’s Upper Hudson Line from Croton-Harmon to Poughkeepsie completing the restoration of all main lines east of the Hudson.
Replacement of flood-damaged electrical switch components continued Friday afternoon as railroad forces prepared for a regular weekend train schedule on the Upper Hudson Line, which carries 8,500 customers each weekday.
With the restoration of service on this 41-mile section of track Metro-North is now providing service to 95% of all its customers.
The free fare policy ended at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. Off-peak fares are in effect all weekend.
