The public office of U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant offers the opportunity for veterans in the 24th district to participate in the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project. The project preserves and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may better understand the realities of war.
Lt. Col. James Megellas is a local veteran from Colleyville who gave Congressman Marchant's office permission to share his video with you. Megellas served in World War II as a commanding officer earning numerous decorations including the Purple Heart, Silver Star, and the Distinguished Service Cross. In the video, you'll hear many of Mr. Megellas' heroic stories from single-handedly attacking an enemy's observation post to helping lay siege to Herresbach, Germany.
If you are a veteran in the 24th district who would like to participate, please contact Rep. Marchant's veterans and military affairs liaison, John Hayes at 972-556-0162.
