Sun-Sentinel: Vice President Biden to deliver commencement address at Weston high school

By Anthony Man

You might be able to say U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston, is bringing home the Biden to her district.

The White House announced Wednesday that Vice President Joe Biden would deliver the commencement address at Cypress Bay High School in Weston on June 4.

It's one of only three commencement addresses Biden will make this spring. The others are at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on May 26 and at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach, Va. on June 14.

The White House didn't release any other details.

Cypress Bay is the biggest high school in the county with enrollment of 4,210.

Florida is the biggest swing state in the November election, and the state will see plenty of visits from Biden and President Barack Obama. Virginia is also a key state in the presidential race, though not as important as Florida.

Weston is the political base of Wasserman Schultz, who is chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.
