Will Columbus lawmakers shrink Lake Erie
Tuesday, June 07, 2011
The Columbus Dispatch reports that legislation proposed in the
state of Ohio could dramatically increase the amount of water that
businesses and cities drain from Lake Erie. Under proposed
legislation, new and expanding businesses could draw 5 million
gallons a day from the Lake, more than doubling the current cap of
2 million gallons a day. Some are concerned that less water
in Lake Erie could harm the lake, while others think a higher cap
could attract new industry. To see how Ohio caps compare to other
