President signs measure to keep government open

Wednesday, March 02, 2011

The President has signed a measure into law that will keep the government open for the next two weeks.

The Senate voted 91-9 for the bill that cuts spending by $4 billion, and is identical to a measure that easily passed the House on Tuesday

Passage of the short-term measure will allow the House, Senate and White House to strike a deal on a long-term solution to fund the government for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2011, or the end of September 2011.
