Mentor leads Greater Cleveland cities as home for people working in manufacturing: Sunday's Numbers

Though manufacturing isn't what it once was in Cleveland, one out of every nine employed Cleveland residents still works in the manufacturing industry, new Census estimates show.

22 percent: The share of employed Mentor residents working in the manufacturing industry, highest among area cities, according to Census Bureau estimates for 2008-10 released last week for places of at least 20,000 people.

6.9 percent: South Euclid residents working in manufacturing, lowest among area cities of at least 20,000.

12.2 percent: Cleveland residents working in manufacturing.

11.3 percent: Cincinnati residents in manufacturing.

7.4 percent: Columbus residents working in manufacturing.
