Help With a Federal Agency |
Chris' office can help you if you are having a problem with a federal agency
“Since coming to Congress I have been focused on helping the people of Connecticut’s 5th District. I am pleased to have been able to help so many people and look forward to continuing to do so.”
Every Congressional office has a district-based
staff that helps individuals interact with their government. While
Congressman Murphy cannot compel an agency to do something not allowed by its
regulations, his office assists people in working with the agency, ensuring
that his constituent’s rights are respected, and that procedural errors are
corrected.
From January, 2007 through the summer of this year, Congressman Murphy’s office has handled 5,675 individual cases. As a result of these efforts, $5.2 million has been saved or recouped for residents of Connecticut’s 5th District. Murphy’s office handled 1,427 immigration related cases, 569 Social Security cases, 341 cases dealing with veterans’ benefits and 318 foreclosure and housing related cases.
