On Thursday, September 23, 2010, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing entitled, "Transition in Iraq: Is the State Department Prepared to Take the Lead?" The hearing examined issues raised by the Commission on Wartime Contracting’s report, released on July 12, 2010, entitled, “Better Planning for Defense-to-State Transition in Iraq Needed to Avoid Mistakes and Waste.”
