On Wednesday, December 2, 2009, The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing titled: "Will Arbitron's Personal People Meter Silence Minority Owned Radio Stations?" The hearing examined whether Arbitron's use of the Portable People Meter (PPM) accurately measures radio audience listenership and whether Arbitron's use of the PPM has a disproportionately negative impact on radio stations owned by minorities or targeted toward minority listeners.
