The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform met in open markup session on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, and took the following actions:

H.R. 1323, the “Reducing Information Control Designations Act”, was ordered favorably reported by a voice vote.

H.R. 1320, the “Federal Advisory Committee Act Amendments of 2009”, was ordered favorably reported, by a yea-nay vote: 16-1.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment offered by Mr. Issa, #1, was withdrawn.

H.R. 1387, the “Electronic Message Preservation Act” was ordered favorably reported, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment offered by Mr. Issa, #1, was agreed to by unanimous consent.

Under a motion by Chairman Towns, the following bills and resolutions were ordered favorably reported to the House by unanimous consent (no objection):

Res. 166, Recognizing the 450th birthday of the settlement of Pensacola, Florida, and encouraging the people of the United States to observe the 450th birthday of the settlement of Pensacola, Florida, and remember how the rich history of Pensacola, Florida, has likewise contributed to the rich history of the United States, and for other purposes.

H. Res. 178, Expressing the need for enhanced public awareness of traumatic brain injury and support for the designation of a National Brain Injury Awareness Month.

H. Res. 22, Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the Senate should ratify the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

H.R. 987, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 601 8th Street in Freedom, Pennsylvania, as the “John Scott Challis, Jr. Post Office”.

H.R. 1216, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1100 Town and Country Commons in Chesterfield, Missouri, as the “Lance Corporal Matthew P. Pathenos Post Office Building”.

H.R. 1217, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 15455 Manchester Road in Ballwin, Missouri, as the “Specialist Peter J. Navarro Post Office Building”.

H.R. 1218, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 112 South 5th Street in Saint Charles, Missouri, as the “Lance Corporal Drew W. Weaver Post Office Building”.

H.R. 1284, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 103 West Main Street in McLain, Mississippi, as the “Major Ed W. Freeman Post Office”.
