Below is a list, in alphabetical order, of services my office can provide. I have also provided a PowerPoint presentation that summarizes these services.

Agriculture

Being blessed with an abundance of fertile farm land in the 12th District, agriculture plays an important role in our region's economy. This page includes resources that should be of interest to farmers and others involved in agriculture.

Art Competition

Each year, I sponsor the Congressional art competition, "An Artistic Discovery," that highlights the creativity and hard work of high school students throughout the 12th Congressional District. The Grand Prize entry will be displayed, for one year, in the Capition complex in Washington, D.C. and the Grand Prize winning artist is invited to a reception in Washington, D.C.

Disaster Assistance

Natural disasters can come in many forms, including severe storms, heavy snow, tornadoes, flooding and earthquakes. When disasters hit our communities, my office will assist in directing constituents to the appropriate resources to get assistance. This page currently contains information for people who were affected by the flooding in Southern Illinois.

Education

Resources for students and teachers. This section also includes links for the colleges and universities that serve the 12th Congressional District as well as excellent resources for those interested in financial aid for college.

Flags

Flags that have been flown over the United States Capitol can be purchased through my Congressional office.

Grant Assistance

There are a number of opportunities for grants to municipalities and agencies. These grants are competitive and each will have its own set of guidelines, restictions and schedule. Take this link for a comprehensive list of federal grant resources.

Help with Federal Agencies

I am often able to provide guidance in dealing with a federal agency or assistance with problems that you may be experiencing. On this page is a sampling of issues for which I can be of assistance as well as links to agency web sites that may provide answers to your questions.

Internships

I am occasionally able to accept college students as interns in my Congressional offices. In addition to general office support, interns may assist my staff with constituent services, Capitol tours, and light research.

Service Academies

One of my responsibilities, as a U.S. Congressman, is to nominate young men and women to the U.S. Service Academies

Washington DC Tours

My office can arrange Congressional tours for you. Tours are currently available for a number of government buildings, including the Capitol and the White House.
