Rehberg Earns Legislative Excellence Award for Support of Montana Jobs

BILLINGS, MT – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, was awarded the Manufacturing Legislative Excellence Award from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in recognition of his steadfast support of job-creating American manufacturers and their employees.

“Manufacturing is a pillar of American job creation and our economy,” said Rehberg. “Washington needs to be a better partner to American businesses and manufacturers. That means making sure they have a fair playing field in global markets, keeping taxes low so companies can invest in jobs and economic growth, and making sure regulations are reasonable and necessary. I’m honored to be recognized by the business community as one who fights for jobs.”

The award is given to members of Congress in recognition of their voting record on key legislative proposals, which for the 112th Congress included job creation, taxes, energy policies, regulations and labor law reform, among others. A list of NAM’s key manufacturing votes used in determining the Legislative Excellence Awards, along with the respective voting record of members of Congress, can be found on their website at http://www.nam.org/. Rehberg is the only member of the Montana congressional delegation to receive the award for the 112th Congress.

“Your favorable votes on key manufacturing issues helped advance the effort to make the Untied States the best place in the world to manufacture and attract foreign investment, expand access to global markets, develop a 21st -century workforce, and promote innovation, investment and productivity,” wrote Aric Newhouse, NAM’s Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations, in a letter to Rehberg.
