Jobs and Economy Plan

“As I travel around Montana, I see first-hand the amazing work being done by Montana's small business owners. This nation's greatness is built by the unheralded personal sacrifices, boundless ingenuity, and raw sweat of our small business owners. The jobs that our economy so badly needs don't come from Washington, D.C, they come from the hard work of these amazing entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our economy.”

Denny Rehberg has a Plan to Revive Our Economy and Get America Back to Work:

  • Eliminate the payroll tax for workers and their employers for at least six months and up to a year
  • Offer a 100% annual tax write-off for businesses for the purchase of tools and technology
  • Eliminate the capital gains tax on investment income to encourage economic growth
  • Lower the 35% corporate income tax to 12.5% to promote job creation
  • Eliminate the “death tax” and extend the 2001 and 2003 tax relief packages

The LEASE Act: Protecting Montana Jobs

Denny Rehberg has introduced the bipartisan Limit Executive Actions Suspending Energy (LEASE) Act of 2010, which would restore suspended oil and gas leases throughout Montana. An economic analysis by Montana State University–Billings concluded that oil and gas development has a total impact of more than $8.6 billion in Montana and supports more than 12,000 jobs.

Help for Small Businesses

Denny is a cosponsor of the Small Business Formation & Job Creation Act, which increases the new business start-up tax deduction to $20,000 through 2011 for expenses including permits, rent, and employee training. This a direct way to free up capital for small businesses to grow and create new jobs.
