PM: McDermott will attend the performance of All My Sons and the post-show
discussion, which will focus on the Ft. Lawton legislation McDermott authored. The bill corrected a grave injustice that had
been imposed on a group of African American soldiers during World War II. It requested that the Secretary of the Army
review the cases of 28 individuals wrongly convicted in a court-martial arising
from a disturbance at Fort Lawton, Seattle, Washington, on August 14, 1944.
