Boswell Continues Fight for Farm Bill and Wind Energy Production Tax Credits
Thursday September 20, 2012WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Leonard Boswell (IA-3) today took to the House floor to stand up for American farmers and ranchers and domestic renewable energy producers. Boswell’s remarks come after House Republicans blocked his attempts to hold a vote on both the Farm Bill and the renewable energy production tax credit before House Republican Leadership recess until after the November election.
Yesterday, Rep. Boswell submitted both measures to the House Rules Committee as amendments to H.R. 3409, the Coal Miner Employment and Domestic Energy Infrastructure Protection Act. If they had been made in order by the Rules Committee, the House would have had the opportunity to pass a Farm Bill and the tax credit extension by the end of the week.
Boswell’s floor statement can be viewed here.
