WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Steve Southerland, II issued the following statement today in remembrance of the lives lost at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941:

“As we honor the heroes who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor 71 years ago today, we’re provided a solemn opportunity to reflect upon their heroism and commitment to country.  In the same way that America’s Greatest Generation never wavered through the Depression and the darkest days of World War II, we, too, must remain ever vigilant in defense of freedom.  On this day of remembrance, let us also offer thankful prayers for the brave men and women in uniform who stand guard today.”
