DeGette Travels to Copenhagen as Part of Official Congressional Delegation

COPENHAGEN – As the world gathers in Copenhagen, Denmark for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 15), U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), the Vice Chair of the Committee on Energy and Commerce and a member of the official bipartisan Congressional delegation, released the following statement:

“I am pleased to be a part of the Congressional delegation to this important conference in Copenhagen.  Our goal is to show the world that the United States Congress is committed to tackling climate change, both in our own country and by assisting other nations on the path to sustainability,” said DeGette.  “The House has already acted by passing forward-thinking legislation that aims to cut global warming pollution 83 percent by 2050, which will stimulate our economy and create green jobs and businesses. The science is clear that our climate is changing from manmade causes, and this is an historic opportunity for the world community to come together and commit to collectively addressing our common challenge.”
