Reid worked to bring service organization to Las Vegas November 11, 2010 Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid welcomed the USO to its new location in McCarran International Airport in advance of today’s grand opening. Reid has worked with the USO since 2007 to designate and create the space at the airport so that troops and their families have a place to rest and relax while in transit. In 2009, more than 250,000 service members and families traveled through McCarran Airport. Reid has long recognized the importance and need for a USO Center in Nevada as our state is home to so many military installations such as; Creech Air Force Base, Nellis Air Force Base, Fallow Naval Air Station and the Hawthorne Army Depot. The need for a USO Center will finally come to an end this Veterans Day as we open the center and our service members and families can enjoy the hard work of so many great volunteers and community leaders.
