Linda Sánchez Statement on November Jobs Report (December 7, 2012)

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Linda Sánchez (CA-39) released the following statement today after the Department of Labor announced that the economy added 146,000 jobs in November to bring the unemployment rate down to 7.7%, which is a four year low.  This report marks 33 consecutive months of private sector job growth.

“This jobs report is a positive sign that our economy is continuing to make a steady and promising recovery.  To build on this progress, Congress must reach an agreement to avoid sending our nation over the so-called ‘fiscal cliff.’  Failing to reach a resolution threatens our economic recovery and the economic security of working families.

“I urge my Republican colleagues to join House Democrats in extending middle class tax cuts—legislation that has already passed the Senate.  We must work together to reach a balanced, fair and responsible agreement that creates jobs, grows our economy and reduces the deficit.”
