About this Site

“Florence Kahn: From Congressional Widow to Trailblazing Lawmaker,” is a Flash presentation developed by the Office of History and Preservation and the Office of Publication Services under the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives in May 2009. It is based upon research conducted for Women in Congress, 1917–2006 (Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office, 2007). Women in Congress is the first volume in a series of publications highlighting the congressional service of women and minority groups. The volume may be purchased at the U.S. Government Printing Office online bookstore. A companion Web site is located at http://womenincongress.house.gov. In December 2010, the Office of History and Preservation became the Office of the Historian and Office of the Clerk Office of Art and Archives.
