Smithsonian exhibit coming to KSU Geauga

U.S. Rep. Steven C. LaTourette (R-OH) today announced that a traveling Smithsonian program -- "New Harmonies:  Celebrating American Roots Music" -- will open on August 10 at the Kent State University Campus in Burton.

The exhibit is part of the Smithsonian Institution's Museum on Main Street, a traveling exhibition program. It will be at the KSU campus at 14111 Claridon Troy Road, Burton, from August 10 to September 2.  Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

New Harmonies will tell the story of American Roots Music through photos, instruments, lyrics and artist profiles, and will feature the work of B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie and others.
