Post 9-11 Vets may get more help starting Monday

Friday, May 06, 2011

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently finalized a program that could provide additional assistance to eligible post-9/11 veterans who choose to receive their care in a home setting from a primary Family Caregiver, rather than a hospital or clinic setting.  Veterans may start applying for this new assistance a few days from now, on Monday, May 9, 2011.

VA programs for Veterans and their Family Caregivers include:  In-Home and Community Based Care, Respite Care, support groups and Caregiver education and training programs for Caregivers, including programs for those caring for veterans with Traumatic Brain Injuries. You can find more information about help for veterans here.
