Bula farmers may be eligible for USDA help for spring freeze

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced that Erie County, PA, is a primary natural disaster area due to losses caused by freezing temperatures from March 27 through April 3, 2012. Ashtabula County is a contiguous county affected by the freezing temperatures and may be eligible for assistance from the Farm Service Agency (FSA). Farmers in eligible counties have eight months from the date of disaster declaration (6-12-12) to apply for emergency loan assistance. FSA will consider each emergency loan application on its own merits, taking into account the extent of production losses, security available, and repayment ability.

For more information please contact the FSA for Ashtabula County by calling 440-437-6330.
