  1. Today I hosted a roundtable discussion about autism at the Child Resources Center in Havertown. After our recent Congressional hearing on this issue, I remain concerned that our national approach to addressing the rising rates of autism is ...
lacking. With 1 in 88 children diagnosed with ASD, we must ensure that we are providing the necessary care and services for these children and their families. Today we heard from some local advocates and service organizations that are on the front lines working with those touched by this issue every day. Read more about today’s discussion here:

congress are gutless cowards when are you going to start impeachment proceddings againt obama. here is another example of him breaking the law Under current law, the administration is supposed to provide a full accounting every April and October of any proposed regulations that will have a "significant" economic impact. That hasn't happened since 2011 Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/12/06/energy-industry-concerned-obama-could-pursue-end-run-on-climate-change-rules-241630840/#ixzz2EMS3MMZK

I want you to understand how much the voters want to change the current tax structure. I firmly believe that returning to higher tax rates for those making $250,000 or more is absolutely necessary. And so must others, given the broad support President Obama received in the recent election. Lowering taxes on the wealthy has not benefited our nation’s economy. Although returning the tax burden to the way it was when George W. Bush took office would help, I’d really like to see it return to the way it was when Reagan was in office. Thank you for listening to me: someone struggling to stay in the middle class. “There is no greater inequality than the equal treatment of unequals.” Justice Felix Frankfurter

Pat. You risk losing my and many other's votes next election. If you capitulate to Obama's demands I and many others I know will capitulate and MOVE AWAY from the Republican party. Truly, I am most likely a libertarian but am a registered republican. It's time for you to stand on the principles/platform which you were elected or accept a final term. Also note that I am VERY CONCERNED that responsible republican representatives are being thrown under the bus and getting the boot from key committees because they are sticky to the principles by which they were elected. They were last check voted in place to keep some balance against perverted powers in our federal government. Simply put I would rather see the whole betraying republican party go down in flames and therefore the entire country to let this fiscal and social insanity run its course - the tough love of hitting bottom in hopes of a real recovery. 3. As a member of the Transportation Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials, this morning I joined Rep. Andrews and Rep. LoBiondo at the site of the recent train derailment in Paulsboro, New Jersey. After our briefing, we updated the media on the latest with the cleanup and NTSB investigation. Once the investigation is complete both regulators and policymakers in Congress need to examine these issues.

  4. Today at 10am I will chair a hearing on the terrorist exploitation of refugee programs. We will seek to identify any remaining gaps in the security screening process that need to be remedied. It’s imperative that the Departments of State and Homeland Security have the strongest possible security screening apparatus so that terrorists are kept out of the U.S. You can watch the hearing live here:
  5. I'm very pleased that the Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act has finally passed the Senate. This bill will help fight devastating diseases like pancreatic cancer, an especially cruel illness with the lowest survival rate among the most common forms of cancer. I’ve been a long supporter of this bill and I look forward to it becoming law.
  6. Today I welcomed students from the Academy of Notre Dame in Villanova to Washington. Prior to their tour of the Capitol building, I had a chance to speak with these bright young students about the issues before Congress.

  8. Today I met with Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson, co-chairs of the President’s debt commission, and others with the Fix the Debt Coalition to discuss the looming fiscal cliff. The only way that we will solve the enormous challenge before us is to put partisanship aside and work together to make real progress for the American people. Read more about our meeting here:
  9. Happy Thanksgiving! Wishing you all a wonderful day with your family and friends. Please remember the brave men and women of our military who are away from their families this holiday.
  10. Proud to be a cosponsor of a Congressional resolution in support of American Education Week. Let’s honor our teachers and all of those in public education for their hard work educating our children!
  11. This morning I spoke on the House floor expressing strong support for the people of Israel during this tumultuous time. I called on my colleagues to send an unambiguous message that we stand with Israel in the right to defend itself.
  12. Yesterday I spoke at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern PA Summit 2012. I talked about the importance of providing opportunities for our youth, and commended Big Brothers Big Sisters for the great work they do in our community and across the country.
