BREAST CANCER OPTIONS RECEIVES 3rd GOLDSTEIN LIEBERMAN & COMPANY CARES PROGRAM DONATION AT OFFICES OF CONGRESSWOMAN NAN HAYWORTH, MD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Phillip E. Goldstein, managing partner of Goldstein Lieberman & Company LLC, announces that the firm has made a third donation to Breast Cancer Options as part of the company’s Goldstein Lieberman Cares Program. The check presentation was held Tuesday, October 18th, 2011 at the Goshen offices of New York Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, M.D.  Congresswoman Hayworth represents New York’s 19th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.

The check presentation ceremony provided Breast Cancer Options the opportunity of meeting Congresswoman Hayworth and providing information about the services the organization provides to women affected by breast cancer in five counties in the Hudson Valley Region. With her medical background, Congresswoman Hayworth has pledged to help to craft new health care policy that improves affordability and access to care while sustaining the choice, quality, and innovation that characterizes the best of American health care.

Breast Cancer Options provides the only grassroots, non hospital based services for women with breast cancer in the Hudson Valley. The organization stages a yearly complimentary medicine conference and is an invaluable source for information on prevention, diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment care. Executive Director Hope Nemiroff explained to Congresswoman Hayworth that the Breast Cancer Options slogan “Think Pink Locally” is a reminder that funds raised by national organizations typically go for research and aren’t allocated locally to cover critical everyday expenses that neighbors in the region may need. Breast Cancer Options works to fill that need.

The Goldstein Lieberman & Company Cares Program was formed to be a lifeline for the region’s not-for-profits during the recession and was extended when the company realized the continued need on the local level.  The firm was awarded the prestigious 8th Annual Pinnacle Award for Corporate Service by the Rockland Business Association in 2011 largely for the program that has awarded over $175,000 to local charities since its inception.
