Solon company gets 23 million dollar federal contract for green lighting on Navy Ships

Wednesday, August 03, 2011

U.S. Rep. Steven C. LaTourette (R-OH) today announced that Energy Focus Inc. of Solon has been awarded a $23,119,833 firm fixed-price contract to design and manufacture energy efficiency lighting for Navy ships.

"This is wonderful news for Energy Focus and the city of Solon," LaTourette said.

The project will upgrade current legacy lighting systems with new energy-efficient  lighting as part of the Navy's green initiative.   Work on the first delivery order will be done in Solon and should be completed by Dec. 1, 2011.

The contract was competitively awarded on a best-value system and Navy officials say three companies competed for the work.  To learn more about Energy Focus Inc., click here.
