WASHINGTON, DC (OCTOBER 10, 2012) - Statement of Rep. Danny K. Davis FOLLOWING HEARING ON events in BENGHAZI

“My heart and prayers go out to the families of Ambassador Chris Stevens and the three other brave Americans victims of the attack on our Diplomatic outpost in Benghazi. 

Today's hearing by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee took on an unfortunate and unnecessary partisan turn. It is clear that there is a need to complete the multiple investigations in order to clarify the circumstances leading up to the attack and to enable Congress make informed decisions on how to best support our diplomatic corps.

I am confident that the ongoing investigation conducted by the FBI and the State Department will give the Congress, families and the American people answers to the attack as well as future preventative measures".
