Tuesday, August 28, 2012

August 28, 2012 (WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the below statement regarding preparations underway for Hurricane Isaac:

“As President Obama declares a state of emergency for Louisiana and Mississippi, I am pleased that FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security, and its partners have preparations well underway to respond to Hurricane Isaac. FEMA has gone under significant change since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 and I have full confidence in it and its Administrator, Craig Fugate. I urge all those in affected areas to listen to their public officials during this unpredictable time.”
