In the Senate - This week, the Senate will resume consideration of a bill, S.3637, that would extend for two years the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Transaction Account Guarantee (TAG) program, which provides unlimited deposit insurance coverage for non-interest-bearing transaction accounts.

Fiscal Cliff - In an interview on “The Daily Rundown with Chuck Todd” on MSNBC, Johnny suggested that the president wants us to go off the fiscal cliff, let tax cuts expire, cut defense spending and then come out and cut taxes on just a few later on. U.S. Sens. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), and Johnny Isakson (R-GA) joined their Senate colleagues in urging President Barack Obama to retract a White House proposal to change the procedure the federal government uses to raise the debt ceiling.
