Information Collected and Stored Automatically

My site is part of the U.S. House Web domain. The U.S. House collects aggregate data about visits to House web sites, such as statistics that show which parts of each Web site were visited the most. The following information is also collected when you visit any U.S. House Web site: the domain from which you access the House web site, the date and time of your visit, the pages you visit, and the address of the Web site, if any, that provided the link from which you reached the House site. This information is gathered only for the purpose of enabling us to improve the online service we provide to visitors to House Web sites.

The U.S. House does not collect any individual identifying or personal information (such as your name) when you visit any House Web site. I do not use 'cookies' or other means on my Web site to track your visit in any way. To learn more about the House's Internet security and privacy policy online, please go to this address: http://www.house.gov/house/privacy.shtml

If You Send Us Personal Information

If you simply visit my Web site and do not email me or sign up for my e-Newsletter, my Web site does not collect any personal information about you. You can also contact me by e-mail using my Web site's online web form to express your views or concerns. The online Web form asks you for your name, address, and e-mail address. I use this information to follow up with you about the issue you wrote me or to provide further information regarding your concern. This information will also be available to members of my staff so they can help me in responding to your message or request.

If you are requesting help with a casework matter, my district office may also need to share your information with other government agencies in order to respond to your request. My office will not share personal information communicated through my Web site with any outside organization or individual except when needed to perform constituent casework at your request, or in the course of an authorized law enforcement investigation or emergency posing an imminent risk to public safety.

Some casework requests require my office to provide your information to other relevant federal agencies. These agencies must comply with the Privacy Act of 1974, which requires you to provide written permission to a federal agency before it can share any information with my office. If you have any questions about release forms or contacting government agencies, please contact my district office at (803) 799-1100.
