Internship
Both my Washington and district offices have opportunities for
students interested in interning for academic credit.
All internships are unpaid and those who want to intern in my
Washington office must pay their own travel and living expenses.
Interns working in my Ohio or Washington offices can arrange to
receive academic credit for their work. Preference is given to
students from the 14th Congressional District or NE Ohio.
Internships in Washington, DC:
Interns in my Washington, DC, office will have an opportunity to
learn about the legislative process and the federal government by
working closely with the DC staff. DC interns handle a variety of
tasks, from answering phones to giving constituent tours of the
Capitol to assisting the legislative staff. Interns are often given
research assignments and are given the opportunity to attend
congressional hearings. Typical internships can be as short as a
few weeks to as long as a full semester. We will work to
accommodate class schedules. Internships are available throughout
the year.
Internships in my District Offices:
District interns have an opportunity to learn how a
congressional office provides constituent services and interacts
with the community. Both college and high school students may
intern in my district office. District internships can be
coordinated with your class schedule, and interns sometimes work as
little as one morning or afternoon a week. Internships are
available throughout the year.
You must complete an
internship application, and it should be addressed to:
