(Pittsburgh, PA) -- Today, U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04) held an open, public meeting with nearly 40 people at the Plum Senior Center. During the meeting, Congressman Altmire took questions on a number of different topics, including health care reform, immigration, Social Security, taxes and more. Today’s meeting was advertised in the local newspaper, on websites, and at community meetings in recent weeks.
Following his meeting at the Plum Senior Center, Congressman Altmire also had an open, public meeting at the East Suburban YMCA in Plum, where similar topics were discussed.
“We had a great discussion today,” Congressman Altmire said. “I appreciated hearing people’s views on such a diverse array of issues. I routinely hold open, public meetings like this, because I am always eager to hear my constituents’ thoughts about key issues being debated in Congress.”
“Congressman Altmire’s meeting today gave us the opportunity to invite our entire community to participate in an open and wide-ranging discussion with their representative in Congress,” Nina Segelson, the Director of the Plum Senior Center, said.” Congressman Altmire has been a frequent visitor at the Plum Senior Center over the years, and I want to thank him for always taking the time to listen to local residents’ concerns and answer their questions.”
