Altmire to Host Workshop for Non-Profits in Cranberry on Saturday
March 24, 2010
(Washington, D.C.) -- On Saturday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04) will hold a workshop for local non-profits at the Cranberry Municipal Building, located at 2525 Rochester Road in Cranberry Township. At this workshop, non-profits will learn how to leverage various types of in-kind support -- such as interns, corporate volunteer programs, or professional organizations offering pro-bono work. This will be the third non-profit workshop that Altmire has held this spring.
“Non-profit organizations provide vitally important services to western Pennsylvania families,” Congressman Altmire said. “Given that many non-profits are finding it hard to raise funds right now, I wanted to help them learn about different types of resources that can help them fulfill their missions. I encourage anyone who works with a non-profit and is interested in learning about additional types of support to attend Saturday’s workshop.”
A number of topics will be covered in Saturday’s workshop, including how organizations can benefit from the AmeriCorps Program, utilize project management support, recruit interns, and ask companies for other types of in-kind support.
Individuals who wish to attend the workshop should R.S.V.P. to Congressman Altmire’s office by emailing
