Altmire Town Hall on Health Care Draws Nearly 1,000 People
August 26, 2009
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- Today, U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04) held a town hall in Farrell, PA on health care reform that drew nearly 1000 western Pennsylvanians. During his two terms in Congress, Altmire has held dozens of town halls and open public meetings across western Pennsylvania to listen to his constituents’ views on various issues.
“Today’s town hall was an open and wide ranging discussion about what we can do to improve America’s health care system,” Altmire said. “Throughout this summer, I have been talking to western Pennsylvania families, small business owners, and health care providers about what they want to see included in health care reform. I will draw upon the comments and concerns I have heard from western Pennsylvanians this summer as I keep working to find ways that we can lower health care costs for families and small businesses.”
In addition to today’s town hall in Farrell, Congressman Altmire will also have a telephone town hall on Wednesday, September 2 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to talk to constituents from across the district about health care. Earlier this summer, Altmire held two telephone town halls on health care reform and more than 12,000 people participated in each of these calls. Constituents who wish to participate in Altmire’s next telephone town hall can call his Aliquippa Office at (724) 378-0928 to be added to the call list.
