"Today we're going to take a vote on the REINS Act by Geoff Davis. Today is the start of having a check-and-balance that no more weight is added to America but that we're able to get back in the pool and swim for a faster speed in a competitive world, that helps us win one more time."

I want to tell you a little story: I was at a high school speaking and we were talking about regulations and the challenge America has about being global. And one of the students wondered about the success of a communist China and the failure of a capitalist America. This person happened to be a swimmer, so I wanted to give him a little analogy of what has transpired in America. I told him to take America back to after World War II and let's pretend America is a swimmer and we swim and compete against all the other countries. We jump in the pool, we have a race, and we win. We not only win, but America's out of the pool and dries off before second and third even comes. Then along the line we told America to put a 10 pound weight on, we still won the swim meet; we then told them to put a 50-pound weight on. America still won but second and third came close; then told them to put a 100-pound weight on and we've got a pretty good race; have a 300-pound weight on, and we barely win. But no one says to take the weight belt off, they just say America doesn't swim like they used to. Today we're going to take a vote on the REINS Act by Geoff Davis. Today, is the start of having a check-and-balance that ensures no more weight is added to America, and that we're able to get back in the pool and swim for a faster speed in a competitive world, that helps us win one more time.
