McCarthy Statement on the Tenth Anniversary of September 11th Attacks PDF Print E-mail

Bakersfield, California – Congressman Kevin McCarthy released the following statement regarding the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks:

"Ten years ago, our nation was struck by the worst terrorist attack ever to be carried out on American soil. I will never forget how the American people came together in solidarity that day, and in those that followed. We immediately resolved that we would rise together from the ashes and reaffirm our rights as Americans to live, vote and worship as free men and women. We especially remember the first responders, the men and women of our armed forces and the thousands of innocents who perished in New York City, the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania that day. Brave young people from all across this country answered the call to serve a half a world away and have sacrificed their time, sweat, blood – and all too often their lives – so we can wake up each day and be free. I want the men and women in our military and their families to know that we will be forever grateful. As we reflect on the ten-year anniversary, let us never forget what makes our nation so great. We are a nation founded on the principles of freedom and liberty, and we will never give up the fight to keep our country safe and strong for generations to come."
