On Policies The President & Republicans Can Work Together:

"Free Trade Agreements, which we've been talking about for quite some time. The holdup is that the President has to call them up.  And once he does, it has been scored, they can create a quarter of a million jobs that we've been waiting on this whole time. There are some union issues he felt needed to be stronger that has been holding up the whole time. We believe it is a good opportunity. You heard the president say it, let's make America be more competitive. We are not waiting around, we want to move them. We want American products sold at lower prices in other countries to let us compete with other countries."

On House Republican Bills Being Stalled By Senate Democrats:

"In the speech President Obama said any ideas should come forward. We [House Republicans] have ideas, let's move them through. We have a number of bills to create jobs for the middle class, they're sitting in the Senate and have not moved."

On Ending The Gridlock In Washington:

"Things are not happening in Washington. America has a great deal of doubt in Washington. I do too. When I see speeches like tonight – it only adds to it. Remember what Winston Churchill said about America, 'You can always count on Americans to do what is right after they've exhausted every other option.' I've seen these options get exhausted for too long with the stimulus and now with the speech tonight.  It is time we put partisanship aside and let the policy decide so we can have the debate and move this country forward."

On Growing Small Businesses & The Middle Class:

"The stimulus cost a trillion with interest and cost more than $200,000 a job. This sounds pretty much the same. I think you need to empower the entrepreneur. When I was 20-years-old, I created my first business. My folks didn't have enough to send me to college, I made investments, started my own business. In two years I had enough to pay my whole way through college. With today's challenges, you need to unshackle the regulation. For the middle-class to be able to grow, our biggest strength is small business."
