McCarthy Statement on the Obama Administration's Regulatory Review PDF Print E-mail

Washington D.C. – Congressman Kevin McCarthy issued the following statement regarding the White House announcement of its Regulatory Review Plans:

"At the beginning of the year, President Obama said he was committed to unwinding the regulatory red tape that is strangling job creation in our country, yet communities across the country continue to suffer from record levels of unemployment. Businesses that want to hire are unsure of whether they can afford to do so because they fear the 'cost of doing business' will continue to rise as a result of the policies coming from this Administration.

"Today's release of the White House Regulatory Review again demonstrates President Obama's lack of commitment to bold policies that would actually help make it easier for American job creators to get people back to work. This 'plan' doesn't even come close to addressing the real regulatory barriers to job growth in America. It's time to stop paying lip service to the concerns of job creators. It will take serious leadership and an ambitious vision for American prosperity to turn this economy around. Since January, House Republicans have been fighting the overreach of the Obama White House into the private sector, and we will continue to advance a common sense legislative agenda aimed at removing Washington red tape that is hampering job creation across the country."
