McCarthy Response To President Obama's Veto Threat of Cut, Cap and Balance PDF Print E-mail

Washington D.C. – Congressman Kevin McCarthy released the following statement regarding the President's veto threat of the Cut, Cap and Balance Act:

"It is time to think long and hard about the fact that we are saddling each and every child in this country with $46,000 in debt the day they are born. Yet, the President and Congressional Democrats are proposing trillions more in deficit spending and tax increases, and are refusing to put forward a plan that will change the disastrous trajectory of our federal budget in order to restore hope and prosperity for future generations. We know the problem, and we know the solutions. We must choose to do the right thing.

"Now is the time for the President and Democrats to pull up a seat, sit down at the table and talk about solutions that honor our children and grandchildren – and will allow them to retire with dignity. I urge the President to reverse course and support Cut, Cap and Balance so we can start to get control of our debt problem and move this country toward a brighter tomorrow. Mr. President, now is the time to do the right thing."
