Perlmutter Applauds NASA Official's Tour of Orion Plant

Lakewood, Colorado—Today, Congressman Ed Perlmutter released the following statement regarding Deputy Administrator of NASA Lori Garver touring the Lockheed Martin Waterton Plant in Jefferson County. Deputy Administrator Garver is to view the progress of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle.  Orion will return NASA astronauts to deep space, the moon, and eventually to Mars.  Over 1000 Coloradans are working for Lockheed Martin and its subcontractors to build the capsule.

“America is a nation of vision and exploration, and NASA’s human space program embodies this spirit better than any other.  It gives us common purpose and reminds us how much we can accomplish together.  I am proud Colorado continues to lead in this endeavor.  Ms. Garver’s visit reaffirms NASA’s commitment to complete Orion on time and keep the United States the world leader in space exploration.” Perlmutter said.
