Internships

Summer 2012

Capitol Hill internships provide valuable opportunities for college students and new graduates to experience our nation's legislative process first hand. The majority of current Hill staffers, from chiefs of staff to legislative assistants, started off as personal office and committee interns.  

We are starting to accept applications for my 2012 summer internship program. There will be two four-week sessions, with one in June and the other in July.

Based in my Washington, D.C. office, responsibilities include answering phones, providing constituents tours of the U.S. Capitol, legislative research, assisting the communications director, and aiding staff for special projects as needed. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend committee hearings, briefings, and staff meetings.
