Press Releases

Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-Dallas), a Member of House Republican leadership, today released the following statement regarding the Department of Labor’s unemployment report for the month of November:

“Today’s jobs report serves as a reminder that far too many Americans are looking for work, and that any plan to avert the fiscal cliff must prioritize job creation. Raising taxes, as the President insists, will make it more difficult for our nation’s small businesses to hire and will cost a projected 710,000 jobs

“House Republicans have brought forth a responsible, balanced plan to avoid the fiscal cliff, yet the President continues to advocate for job-restraining tax increases that will not solve our nation’s debt crisis. I strongly believe that job creation should be a bipartisan issue, and I urge my colleagues to join me in supporting policies that will empower small businesses and help to get Americans back to work.”
