Barrow to Host Health Fair in Statesboro PDF Print

Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) has been all over the 12th District, and one thing everybody’s worried about is health care. He’s working hard in Washington to fix health care, but he also wants to do something here at home to help.

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, Congressman Barrow will be hosting a Health Fair for folks in the Statesboro area from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Averitt Center, located at 33 East Main Street, Statesboro, GA. He’ll be bringing local health care organizations together in one place, so folks can come and get some of their health questions answered, get good advice, and learn how to save money on health care.

Health care professionals will be on hand to administer free screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol, give advice on how to save money on prescription drugs, and talk to folks about nutrition and fitness.

“Times are tough right now,” said Barrow, “but I hope folks will stop by and take advantage of these services, get some information about keeping their family healthy, and hopefully get some peace of mind.”

The following is a partial list of organizations that will have representatives at Congressman Barrow’s Health Fair:

  • Ogeechee Technical College
  • Hearts and Hands Clinic
  • Bulloch Senior Center
  • DaVita Dialysis
  • Ogeechee Hospice

  • GA State Highway Patrol
