Barrow Statement Following Health Care Vote PDF Print

Washington, D.C. - Congressman John Barrow released the following statement following this evening’s vote on health care legislation:

“I voted against this bill because I just don't think middle class folks can afford the additional taxes that they will face to pay for this.  I’m glad we’re doing something about the insurance companies, but I don’t think it goes far enough.  Working folks are paying too much, and we can’t keep making working folks pay for reform, especially in times like these.  But this is a start, and we’ve got to start somewhere.  Going forward, I will work with folks from both sides of the aisle to make sure that we’re preserving what’s good about our health care system, while making it fairer and more affordable for all.”
