Washington, DC - Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) met President Obama in the White House today at the signing ceremony for a bill that will provide health insurance to 11 million low-income children.  Following the ceremony, Congressman Barrow released this statement:

"I'm proud to have been part of this moment," said Barrow. "Now all of the kids in Georgia who should be covered by PeachCare will be covered by PeachCare. This is no free lunch - it just means that if you don't make enough to afford private health coverage for your kids, but you make too much to qualify for Medicaid, your kids won't have to get their health care from the emergency room. That means better health care, and better outcomes, at less cost. It's not only the right thing to do, it's the smart thing to do."
