Congressman John Barrow to Host Medicare Prescription Drug Workshop in Savannah PDF Print

Public forum is designed to help address questions and concerns about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Program; former Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly, Executive Director of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, will join Congressman Barrow at the workshop

 

On Monday, March 13th, Savannah Congressman John Barrow (12th District) will host a Medicare Prescription Drug Workshop in Savannah to answer questions and address concerns about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Program - Part D. 

 

Rhonda Hunter, a Medicare Outreach Representative from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, will also be on hand to give a brief presentation about important information to help navigate through the enrollment process.  The initial enrollment period for the new Medicare Prescription Drug Plan ends on May 15th, 2006. 

 

Joining Congressman Barrow at Monday's town hall will be former Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly, now the Executive Director of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.  Mrs. Kennelly will discuss the challenges facing the Medicare Prescription Drug Program, and Congressman Barrow will outline the steps he is taking in Congress to help improve the drug benefit program. 

 

The workshop is scheduled to run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and will be he held at the Coastal Georgia Center, located at 305 Fahm Street in Savannah.
