Washington, DC - Georgia Congressman John Barrow (12th District) today announced that Augusta's Daniel Field has been awarded a $112,095 grant from the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration.

"Daniel Field is an important access point to for many private and medical aircraft," Barrow said.  "This grant will help make sure that Daniel Field has what it needs to keep up with the demands of the local community and best serve the businesses and people that depend on it."

Located close to many of Augusta's medical facilities, Daniel Field plays a valuable role in providing fast and convenient access for air ambulance and medical transport aircraft.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the grant will help fund road improvement for public access to and from the airport, install new fencing around the perimeter of the airport, and make required repairs to the airport's runway.
