  1. As a mom, I am deeply heartbroken by the senseless shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. The children, teachers and families are in my prayers.
  2. Tomorrow, Chair Landrieu will be discussing with local New York and New Jersey leaders the impact Hurricane Sandy had on Small Businesses. We need to move forward and get small business moving again.

  3. I joined a record-breaking number of women senators yesterday for an ABC World News interview with Diane Sawyer. We talked about what it means that one-fifth of the next Congress’ U.S. Senators will be women. The full interview will air on January 3, but you can watch the preview below.
  4. In today’s Advocate, I urged Gov. Jindal to reconsider his opposition to establishing a state-run health insurance exchange in Louisiana. 5. It’s always great to visit Lafayette and the Acadiana region. I was able to chat with KATC while in town this weekend about health care in Louisiana and the ongoing Sandy recovery.
  6. Met with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie this afternoon to hear from him on his state’s recovery after Hurricane Sandy and what he needs from Congress to finish the job .

  8. I'm hosting a Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee Hearing this morning at 9 a.m CST / 10 a.m. EST to assess the federal response to Hurricane Sandy. We'll examine the need for additional funding and more effective tools to support the recovery process for this and future storms. Watch it live below.
  9. Always great to see my brother, especially when he stops by my office in Washington.
